The Legend Lives Tour was the second official event for HoonDog Events, Inc. (the Shootout was the first). What an awesome event it was, in many ways!
The intent of HoonDog Events, as a new IMBOC affiliated Bullitt family non-profit corporation is to continue to bring you national and regional level Bullitt events, while doing so with a higher purpose operating as a charitable entity in support of Boys Republic.

Boys Republic is an incredible organization, a private non-profit school, supporting disadvantaged and at risk boys and girls to become productive adults.
For over 100 years, they have successfully led thousands of youth towards that end, including Steve McQueen. We are very proud to stand with the McQueen foundation as a Bullitt family in supporting Boys Republic. The youth of our nation represent our future!

With all your incredibly generous donations and support before and during our events, we were able to raise $3,800 for Boys Republic. Chris Burns, the Director of Boys Republic wanted me to express his heartfelt thanks to the Bullitt family for so generously supporting the kids!

We are now looking forward to our 2013 and 2014 HoonDog Bullitt events, and we believe we can continually set new records of donations in support of this worthy cause. Please monitor our website, www.hoondogevents.com for new updates for future events.

We want to give a HUGE thanks of appreciation to everyone who contributed, participated, and supported our events, and our chartered cause!
Let's DO IT FOR THE KIDS!!!

Well done, everyone!
Thank you Shawn!!!

And a HUGE thanks to you for such a historical contribution to HoonDog Events, IMBOC, and the Bullitt community!!!

We look forward to our continued partnership with you and Ford in support of our events and Boys Republic!

Thanks!
Jim,
This post was relative to what was generated by HoonDog Events from the Legend Lives Tour only. This includes individual contributions to Boys Republic made to us, the Wigwam, profits from our sales, the charity event in Yukon etc.

It is not however a collective accounting of everything that was provided/donated to Boys Republic by the Bullitt community.

Obviously, Steve's personal contribution was a very generous and charitable one at a personal level.
Jim's contribution with the stickers was also significant.
During the event, there were many Bullittheads who gave generously during the Friday night auction, contributiong literally thousands collectively.

If we were to tally all these direct contributions, as well as accounting for all the personal time, as well as financial support relative to incorporating, and organizing, the Legend Lives Tour, and Friends of Steve McQueen Show, we would be well past any current stated number.

The point of the post, again, was simply to note what the Bullitt community was able to raise via the direct donations/earnings of HoonDog Events and the Legend Lives Tour.
But as can be seen, there were way more individual levels of giving by various Bullittheads as could be accounted for....those personal donations have no basis of being claimed by us! They should be accounted for and recognized individually given they were made not by or through the efforts of HoonDog. But neither was this thread meant to exclude them by any means.

The simple truth should remain.....Bullittheads are simply an incredibly generous lot, and this forum has shown time and again what we can accomplish as a group.

On behalf of HoonDog, to those who made any contribution in time, effort, or financial contribution in support of Boys Republic, we thank everyone for your generosity in supporting such an incredible organization as Boys Republic!

I don't believe that Friends of Steve McQueen have issued their final accounting, but I have heard internally that this years show set a new record (which has actually been the norm, their shows have continued to grow year after year).

As example, there were close to 500 people at the Friday night charity dinner this year, and was so large it had to be held outdoors. Last year, it was less than 200, and held in one of the Boys Republic dining halls.

But hey...it was a Bullitt themed event....of course it would be a big event!!!
ya, I have those numbers....somewhere in all my boxes....I will post as soon as things settle down.

Got back to real world lunacy....crazy at work long hours, lost my virtual office status and now have to waste time commuting (=less hours in the evening), and Tami's mom went into the hospital this week...been stressful, and we haven't even unpacked yet.....so....patience....I will post eventually
just to whet appetities.....while I have not even pulled the numbers of previous shows to confirm....just from memory....

I am almost certain that we.....FINALLY....either equaled, or possibly even exceeded the record attendance set at the first Bullitt Nationals in 2002....

So ya, that is kind of motivating me to go pull the numbers...

But funny that it took exactly 10 years to accomplish that!
