The model is bogus.

The model is a little better now

Thanks to the gracious responders on this thread I am revising my earlier statement about the model being bogus. It looks like Revell added the necessary parts to the GT kit to convert it to a Bullitt. I thought I was duped. It is a little deceiving at first glance. Thanks.

You think that is bad.

I was surfing the net the other day and came upon this 2004 Mustang Bullitt. Yeah you heard me.

Comes complete with fog lamps, 40th anniversary side emblems, GT side scoops and wrong grill.

That sucks, but its time for kitbashing.
do they sell a v6 model? you could use that grill, or cut yours up and modify it. <a href="http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u71/a69stache/?action=view&current=6.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u71/a69stache/6.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
that is this kit??

I really hate it when products are not as advertised.
Look closely. My kit has the GT grill and air cleaner, AND the Bullitt grill and CAI. The Bullitt pieces are molded in white. Revell just added the specific pieces to a regular GT model, kind of like Ford did with the real Bullitt.
yep - check the white parts. grill and CAI are there!

by the way, anybody thought of using HG touch up paint to use on the model? would it work?
I just recieved both of my kit today the 68 and the 08 you must check the parts carefully to find the correct ones it is whats is called a two in one kit a little body puddy and some sand paper will take care of those holes in the back trunk lid on the 08.

Hey, K- just knowing you built your car was enough to consider you "THE MAN", but to know you then built a model of it? I am not worthy!

+ 1 ! You have Bullitt Fever bad :hyper: Which one did you build in the basement ?:construc: :-B You are definitely " THE MAN "
Yep they in in with the parts that are molded in white. Thank You.
I think the paint would work but I would probebly give it a coat of some kind of plastic model primer first.
i just got the autoart model for xmas. its a nice model, mine doesnt have the 40th anni badges, its mostly correct, except when you look closely it has a 4v motor, and an earlier style dashboard with the defrost of the left side of the steering wheel. the trunk on the model is carpeted though ;)
kit arrived today (see pics) - Looks Great!

My kit arrived today. I bought it from someone on eBay. While I noticed the holes in the trunk immediately, I didn't realize there were parts I won't be using. Interesting that Revell included parts from another Mustang kit.

What I did see was the incredible level of detail (over 100 parts)... including decals for everything from the Bullitt insignia in the center of the steering wheel to the shift pattern on our shifter knob.   And the Bullitt insignia for the fake gas cap... and the Ford Racing / Car Number image in the center of the engine compartment cross-brace... and the Pony logos in the center of our wheels. All this, to me, says Revell put plenty of thought into this kit. Some of the pics are below. And the full series of 19 pics can be seen here.

I'm looking forward to (slowly) building this kit (with Hesh, who is getting his from another eBay seller). First I've gotta find a good match for Dark Highland Green. I'll post pics from the build! :)

The instructions suggest you either use body filler to fill those holes (which means sanding afterwards) or that you insert to plugs (furnished with the kit) to fill them in. I have not found the plugs yet, but think they won't result in the smooth surface that body filler and sanding will give.

Yes... chrome wheels. :( And the instructions talk about painting the spokes the appropriate color.

Lots of painting necessary with this kit!!!

I built mine from a 2006 Mustang GT kit. The grill is hand built.
I mixed Model Master steel with black to get the wheel color.
