I just saw a news report on ABC News about a "country club" in Joliette IL.

No golfers!

Just a three-mile road course!

Club house, homes, just like a country club BUT FOR ROAD RACE NUTS!

How 'bout that!

One member has a $500,000 "garage" along the course.

Downstairs is the (dream) "garage" and upstairs is an incredible apartment. Big windows look out over the garage below. Wide screen closed circuit TV lets you see what is happening all along the track, who and what is out there etc...........

If it weren't in a part of the country that's half winter and crappy weather I'd say great! Sign me up, I could afford the tool shed out back!

Yes, we should look for one in Georgia or Florida. My guess is that there will be more.

Speaking of private roads: I have wondered about some of these car guys with the incredible collections in their incredible garages. They must have laid at least a mile of clean concrete on their hundred acres to drive their immaculate cars. The staff would, of course, power wash the entire surface daily. dream, dream..........

hey the weather is not always crap half the year up here! I am still driving the Bullitt and here it is mid November and the temp got up to 60 yesterday. The car usually comes out the first of April and stays out until mid to the end of November. Plus it is a great way to keep the miles down as I am right around 32,650.
