Hey everyone, just got #5290. Taking it kind of easy although thats a hard thing to do. I've been keeping it under 4500 RPM because it's new. Well I just turned over 220 measely miles, and for the first time I went through the gears shifting right at 5000 RPM. Came out of the hole easy. 2000. I know all of you know my excitement. WOW!! second gear chirped real nice and third really through me back in my seat big time. These cars seem to be over the 260HP as advertised. Maybe it's just me. I can't wait until she gets broken in a little more, (2000 miles maybe) so I can shift near the red line. What a car huh? Don't listnen to the Mach 460 much yet. I just want to hear that incredible Bullett exhaust. By the way I can't understand why anybody would want different tones out their Bullett exhaust! Horsepower increase with anything else seems minimal. Well, don't want to spend anymore time writing, I can hear my pony calling!!! P.S. Great website. Everyone chats like an adult here. No childish flaming like other sites. You people are very helpful. Dry roads to all, Dave

Hi Dave. Welcome aboard!

I agree with everything you said except taking it easy on your car until it has 2000 miles on it.

Consensus is... drive it now like you want it to drive later. Break it in hard and it will be faster later. That doesn't mean abuse it, though, obviously.

Welcome, XTC. I'm with the Trooper. Around 700 miles is time to stand on it, if you like. 2000 is just where it really starts to open up on its own.

Thanks for the 'Dry Roads.' Labor Day here in PA shows clear, cool, dry days and nights. I'm headed out to a horse show tonight at my wife's riding club. Hunter/Jumper stuff for you equine-heads. Can't wait to cruise in with my new 'green' pony!

Have fun with your new awesome Bullitt!
