Yes. HD-DVD will probably not survive. The majority of major studios are going strictly Blu-Ray. You'll probably see "Bullitt" released in Blu-Ray soon.SmokinBullitt said:If you have not heard, Warner Bros. has jumped ship and now backs Blu-Ray. This essentially, ends the run of HD-DVD as a future format for HD movies. Toshiba has dropped prices on their HD-DVD backed players to try and flood the market with the HD-DVD format. Don't be swayed by the low price. As far as the movie "Bullitt" goes, it will be out in blu-ray format before summer.
In less than a year from now, HD-DVD will go the way of Betamax. For anyone who reads this, if you're planning on buying an HD-DVD player, don't. Pay the $$$, and get that blu-ray player.

doing our part to support a discontinued media format
I must say though, I am completely blown away by the video quality of this HDDVD. Watching it on my 50in plasma reminds me of any recent DVD title upconverted through my player. It's very very good for a movie 40 years old![]()
I will be waiting !!!!!!!!!SmokinBullitt said:It'll be out in June on Blue-ray.

Don't expect it to look like a new hi-def movie, but it is an improvement over the DVD version. On a big screen (61") you notice the graininess (?) from it being taken from film. Sound is great, especially the chase.
See?
I really gotta try and make that bigger
