I don't know that they would actually stop you if had short sleeves, but it was pretty clear they wanted you to have long sleeves.
Time to run the Bullitt's at Willow Springs!
It's time to pass tech put on your helmet and get on the starting grid for a day of no red lights or speed limits.The weekend of October 3rd and 4th at Willow Springs International Raceway. You will be able to experience the thrill of rowing through the gears and not having to worry about getting an exhibition of speed ticket. The host for the event is unknown at this time. The Cobra Owners Club of America Orange County will be there. What is known is that I will be leaving my house at 04:00ish to arrive at Willow by 06:00. Tech will usually start around 07:00 driver meeting to follow at 09:00. Then a full day of pure Open Track fun! If you need to know more about the event you can call me at 1-562-242-4625

I would bring a long sleeve cotton T-shirt Rick. They are required at other tracks. I case of fire it might help you on exiting the car.
We can set up Ez-Up's as long as they are secure and they do have a Grill at the track with refreshments. Did I mention that we'll be close to Restrooms and not Out Houses!?!

Ok guys sounds like you all have the idea and several have already been there..its very exciting..I doubt I'll sleep much: Here are some tips not all may apply, I run with 3 groups there but this is THE BEST Start Time, Remember this is not like last time...its dark till 7:00, Track will open as some may be in place Friday night., Even though we pay 200 for the Club its 10 bucks per to get in..that's Willow, the fees to rent a track can be 2500 to 3500 a day so that's where our Club comes in. This is a Cobra Club, OC LA etc...I am the 2nd Bullitt to attend, They know I don't do crazy stuff and we have a great relationship, I even joined OC...even though Randy in LA Prez and down the street, OC are just laid back good folks. I am not a very social person, So I may not know names but everyone there is glad we are there and think highly of our cars, 8 will really be something! Time...I would suggest we pull-in more toward 7
o due to light and the track folks not being ready...you will have so much track time the day fly's! The people staying for Sunday get a real treat as some cars break some can only do one day and in my view Sunday as a driver is THE best, small groups and they will at times allow the go fast guys on. There is nothing like seeing a real Boss 302 run with you and blow past, Follow his line as long as you can you will be surprised how quick you will adapt. Pits: Ok, even though we now number a very solid group, These people have been racing for years and know each other big time. Even with me 2 years most don't know me they know the car. May I suggest we pit in a group but...since we are kind of the new guys, we pit a bit further in the OC pits, John will know but where the last cars were in turn 1 we take the end and make a curve with the turn, Galpin does this as they get full view of the track but don't mix in with the others. We are the new guys. Just my take. RELAX...these people want us its Fords only(maybe a few ford guys will have some famous other car or theirs broke) The Tech is real low key, we can fix anything not right, bring zip ties tape and some snacks, Water!!! etc Ice Chests chairs, we can all bunch up, if you have a cover for us great mine is torn. Tech goes from a relaxed 7 ish to 10am,you will go to the Drivers meeting at 9:00 its a must, They will offer to give you a track drive and they have instructors for free! Must go to meeting, You will all run at first Yellow then if you want you can bump up but you must ask them, I love yellow as I drive there and back and I never push more than 75%..its a street car.. At anytime you can pull in the hot pit, if you are holding up or being held up. Relax its a fun just pull in and the flagger will watch for a gap and you go back out, we get about 4 20 min or so seasons per day unless its small(Sunday) then near all dam day...You will not want more time trust me, Unless your a active racer, That track beats you up, I love it vs. the streets, the streets our car is very heavy and the BMW's and all the smaller cars give me fits. Not my thing, On the main you can relax in a few areas. Actually breath! You are on Holy Ground, all the greats have been here, even Senna Mansell Prost Andretti McQueen's(both) on and on..it is a famous track. I at time get tires and slow down and try higher gear but slower pace lines..lots of time for this. I am so happy I got John then others to come out now 8! We have a friend named Wyatt and Debbie with a silver Saleen they joined too, He races Mojave Mile and I expect pretty fast guy. It will be a blast, so 200 two days 10 bucks for track all weekend, Water snakes gear, they have great food too, T Shirts are there a guy has them for the event, we(OC) pit on the inside of turn 1, free camping toilets water to wash off, there is Air there and electrical outlets. I will do my best to be at that station 6:45 or so, really try to pull in at 7 or at least light..we have tons of time, any issues (Brian Mayfield 661 618 9116) I am bring tools and jacks maybe a pit bike.
