Anything you want until it doesn't hold a seal! :D

I bet you could get 275-295 on there with the 8.5 inch wheel. Some folks have 275s on the '01 8 inch wheel. It's a squeeze, but they did it.

Some of it will be specific to the tire. Not all tires are made the same size even though the numbering is the same.

The width is determined by the amount of sidewall available. Which is why the '01's were able to get a 275 on a 17" wheel. Ford screwed the pooch on this for everyone 05+ with 18" wheels. With using a 8.5" vs 9", they extremely limited the sizes available.

For example:

A 275/40/18 is not recommened for less than a 9" wheel.

BUT

A 275/45/18 is recommended for a 8.5" wheel. There are only a few options in this size, but of those, they're good ones. No one has tested these to fit in the front, so if you go with this, please let us know!

If you are looking for all season, get the Goodyear Eagle F1s in 255/45/18...you won't be disappointed.

Wow! Thanks for the info Terry,

I'm looking for some tires too and would love to have some wider/sticker ones than the stocks. But using my Tire calculator the speed-o will be off about 3MPH with the larger 285/40-18s in the rear.

But when I do my programer next week it should be capable of making the corrections in the car's software when I do take the plunge.
