Hey Dona, I just saw your photo and you look too feminine and frail to be able to spank those gears in that Bullitt. I'm only joking. I couldn't resist. No I am not an old school male chauvinist.

HeeHee, you GUYS!!!

Actually, I couldn't welcome that compliment more!!! Back in August of 1994, I weighed almost 180lbs., after a terrible, abusive marriage. I got rid of him and the fat! By the next summer, I weighed about 126lbs. and that is where I've been for over 6 years now and I'm staying! So many people tell me I'm tiny, I just smile and say "thanks, that's a compliment"! I know how to spank!!! heehee

Oh hey, check this out! The picture on the left, I'm wearing a size TWELVE, kinda tight too. The picture on the right, I'm wearing a size ONE! heehee Oh, I know, I know...most guys don't know what women's sizes mean, but a one is tiny! I never thought I'd see the day........oh, and I lift weights too, so I'm one tough Bubbles!

Thanks, 4003, I'm VERY proud!! It took me a year but it's easy to maintain and I did it on my own, just modified my eating and started working out. I've always read/heard that your chances of gaining it back (and more) are like 75%...so, I'm happy!

It must be the weight lifting. I’ve been doing a combination of walking and running since June of this year. In September, I started doing setups and pushups. I hate pushups. I’ve only been able to lose about 10 lbs and reduce by gut profile a little bit. I’ve been thinking about hitting the weights, now I’m sure I am.

Side note..
My Bullitt is not the most important thing in my life. But some interesting things have happened to me since I’ve bought it. I quit smoking. I had been trying to for about a year. I got my Bullitt in May. I quit in June when I sold my third car and started driving the Bullitt more. I didn’t want to smoke in the Bullitt. At about the same time, the Bullitt made be feel fat. It’s the seats. So, I started exercising to shake my gut. So my Bullitt has actually been healthy for me. But then again, this could all be symptoms of mid-life crises.

I discovered the secret to weight loss about 6 months ago. Get sick. Get really really sick. I lost 30 pounds in two weeks.

Now for some thoughts that are just rolling around in my head:

I don't have anything against anyone who wants to lose weight because it's something they want. Just be careful about losing weight because somebody or society says you're fat. There's a difference between losing weight because it's good for you and losing weight because it's what you're told to do.

I knew a woman who lost a lot of weight because she decided she was too fat. Mind you, she was already a beautiful person, both inside and out. After she got to the weight she wanted to be at, she became a really ugly person, and I'm not talking about physical beauty.

It's a fine line, I suppose. Just something to think about.

Great job Dona, keep working and you will be continually rewarded (at least that's why I work out). BTW, Karl Fengler, there is another guy from Meridian on the BON 99-01 Cobra site named Quazar, who has a 2001 Mineral gray snake, I thought maybe you knew him OR maybe you decided to follow TwoStangWmns lead and pick up another stang!

Gosh, thanks you guys! The compliments and encouragement are what help keep me going....besides the fact I'm way happier now then before.

FastBullitt - WTG on the quit smoking thing, that's grrrreat! WOW! I know it's tough. My Dad is working on it now, after 50+ years of it!

And, thanks everyone for your kind words and compliments, it really makes me feel great and makes all the effort worthwhile! Things seems so much better when you aren't worrying about what you look like all the time.

And Wade....you're too kind and sweet! I like your new signature line, wish everyone would do that, I love to see faces!!

Bless you all!

P.S. for you, FASTBULLITT

The weight lifting I started about mid way through my "goal"...it helps a LOT! Wow! It's so hard to change your body shape without weights. I was wimpy at first, using 1 or 2lbs weights, now I do a routine with 15 and 20lb. free weights. Yeah, still not much, but when I'm lying on my bench on my back, with 20lbs. in each hand and doing flys, it feels like 200lbs.! I'm sculpting nice muscles everywhere now that extra weight is off. I still do jogging, aerobics, "dreadmill", some yoga, swimming and moutain biking! It's nice to have energy now.

Good Luck on it!!!!!

Hi Donna,

Mountian Biking is what I am doing these days. Winter has set in so it's slow now, but my goals are long term these days;-)...

Hey, my wife loves the photo of your dogs;-)... You should post some more of them on your WEB site;-)...

Take care and GREAT JOB on the weight loss.

Happy Holidays.

Bud and Family.

PS You need to put Bullitt(Little Buddy) in the Bullitt for some photos<G>.

Hey BudACad!

Thanks for the post! I love to mountain bike, my husband got me into that in 1999 and I can't get enough now! I love the serenity and feeling of freedom....we bike on a Trail that runs nearly all the way through Missouri (used to be an old rail line) and the scenery is breathtaking!!

Also, I'm glad your wife liked the puppy pictures. The one on my website is my favorite of the two, but I have one of just my Beagle that is precious, I'll put it on my site!

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Great job Dona. I just wanted to let you know that my 17 mo old son has been in my lap this whole time, and when he saw your picture, his small vocabulary spit out...."Like, Dada!" I think that says enough. I too once, was into carbs and proteins, but now just eat what I want and work out to retain strength. Keep it up!
