I've heard conflicting responses from "people who know" about whether it would be beneficial for a Bullitt to have a lighter flywheel. Does anyone here REALLY know? It would seem like a mod similar to underdrive pulleys, giving us back some of the power stolen in the drivetrain, but it's been said that the inertia in the weighty stock flywheel gives us more torque. Help anyone? I saw that Black Sunshine # 161 has a magnesium fly installed...

The inertia created by the flywheel is only good once it is rotating.

A lighter weight flywheel will give better response due to less mass having to be rotated. The same goes for the aluminum driveshaft. A combination of a lighter FW & DS should give some impressive gains if the weight reduction is what I would expect.

Do we lose high end torque without that heavy weight spinning around? It seems like a lighter wheel is the way to go but I wouldn't want to find out after I replaced the stock one that I lose power... Does anyone know where to get a good wheel?
