Took the Z06 out Sunday night, 437 miles on odometer. No cool down, straight to lanes, didn't even alter tire pressure. Coolant was around 207. Weather was excellent, except for stiff headwind:

60ft... 2.062
330... 5.396
1/8.... 8.111
mph... 91.85
1000.. 10.425
1/4.... 12.388
mph... 113.73

This was my third and last run. The IRS is a real handful to launch. Overall, I'm pretty pleased. The 1/8 mph was really good, but I think the 20mph headwind was hurting the big end trap. My first run I trapped 114.9.

And btw...weighed the car on the HRP scale:

3070

1/4 tank and no driver

These cars are real lightweight BEASTS. Can't wait until it gets broke-in and I get some more prcatice. I think it might go 11's BONESTOCK, including the tires.

That is one beast JB!!! My 85 LX weighs in at 3100 lbs, with me and 1/2 tank of gas. It has run 11.7s at 118 in the springtime cool air. I don't know how they,Chevy, meet all those safety regs. and keep it so light? Ford needs to take a lesson! As far as my ETs,I leave a bunch on the line running with the BFG DragRadials, only a 2500 converter, and a 3.89 gear, but that keeps it very streetable.

Very nice JB but you can do better. I ran a friends 02 Z at Bradenton the best he did was 12.3's we had 22psi in the rears I made one run in his 02 Z I pulled off a 11.92 I don,t remember the 60' or MPH he has the slips.
I launched at a higher RPM then he did plus I slipped the clutch.

The 02 Z is a great car and I think the 405hp is underated.

I'm seriously thinking about buying one.

The Z's are capable of the 11's bone stock. That will hopefully be my next car. Either that or a Subaru WRX, I wouldn't mind trying a hand at the rally circuit. I've ALWAYS wanted to do that.

I wouldn't mine having a Z-06 myself, but it is a bit beyond my means.....There is always the Lotto! But you know,I still don't have aluminum heads on this old Windsor yet,got those heavy but powerful iron TFS heads right now. Those new re-released Aluminum jobs, would take another 60 lbs. off the front end!
