What??? No Towering Inferno??? I really hate that movie. Seeing O.J. Simpson giving Paul Newman orders really irritates me.

The only one I've even seen is Papillion when I was about 10.
I tried watching Bullitt once but it was too lame for words so I had to shut it off. I just can't get into old movies.

Try LeMans it has some great footage and very little dialogue. Just the sound of engines and the crowds in the first twenty minutes of the movie. If you like the old vintage cars it is a treat to watch.

The idea that they are "old vintage cars" is just a little odd to me........or maybe a bit scary.....:frown:

Or maybe they are not that old.....Just your own personal perspective I would say. To me they are no longer on the current circuit but only on the vintage circuit so yeah they are old. Kind of like watching Grand Prix. Not a great movie but a lot of great old cars to be seen and I would sat they Grand Prix would be a better pick than LeMans but both are worth seeing.

Grand Prix was interesting because they were using the last of the rolling fuel tanks.
Those things were very dangerous for that and many other reasons.
F1 racing has really come a long way since then.....it become more boring but, a LOT safer.

Well, since I don't like old cars either I'll pass. There isn't anything made before 1985 that I care for.

Bump

1.) The Sand Pebbles This film was Steve McQueens only academy award nomination.

2.) Bullitt Not a really a great film, but it set the standard for car chases and the gritty feel for the movies in the 70s.

3.) The War Lover This movie was the first impression I had of Steve McQueen.

4.) The Cinncinati Kid A great character study, showed Steve at his 'poker face' best.

5.) The Getaway Whats not to like? Steve being Steve and Ali McGraw soaking wet.

6.) The Hunter Again, Steve being Steve, and a trashed Trans/Am!

7.) Papillion Steves only portrayl as a Frenchman.
