For those that are familiar with the N. VA area, I was on my way home from the dealer (after finally getting my bumper repaired correctly) in MD when I came across a 2000 Firebird Formula on 495. Traffic was moderate, so just for fun I downshifted into third and blew past him. I was grinning ear to ear when I saw him get on it and catch right up to me, IT'S ON! We played tag the rest of the way down 495 onto the GW Memorial Parkway until I got stuck behind an old VW bus. Not a fitting end for a Bullitt I might add. I thought I had lost him until I saw him again on the exit ramp for 50. I quickly caught up to him again when we both hit the stop light, side by side. Unfortunately, there were a couple of cars ahead of us. We started chatting while at the light and I commented that he had a nice looking car (which it was) that sounded really good. He mentioned that he had just read an article on the Bullitt the other day and really liked our cars. So the light turns green, we let the cars in front make a little room and then we both hit, lighting em up! First, second, and I was gone. Fortunately my lane was clear but he got stuck behind the car that was in front of him. So I guess that makes me the winner by default! Hey, I'll take what I can get. Does anyone know the HP those cars are making? I was able to hang with him every time he got on it while we were on the highway. Maybe he wasn't getting on it all the way, but I could see the carbon blow out his exhaust when he was. So I figured he was giving her everything she was worth.
