Lets see what this thing can do before we start trading our cars in. There are alot of problems with the 2001 cobras. These car currently have a bunch of tsb on them. I will keep the Bullitt I just can not see going out and spending nearly 40 large for a mustang that weighs nearly 4000!! If Ford offers something down the road that is affordable and fast like the Buliitt I might look into it until I will just my Bullitt faster.

I really enjoy the balance of the Bullitt, and I'm not sure I would use the extra HP in a supercharged Cobra. I'll be keeping the Bullitt for a very long time. Besides, if I decide later I do want more power, plenty of people here have shown a SC Bullitt can deliver it.

Absolutly not. If I was going to wait for something, it would be the next platform stang (which has apparantly been pushed back to 05 now) You could get the same power for a lot less dough. The only plus about the new Cobra is the warantty will cover the SC. The Bullitt is to classic to give up for the 03 Cobra.

You guys said it...

For what I could potentially lose on the trade up for the Cobra I could have a nicely vortech'd Bullitt, without all the hassles that some complain about with the IRS.

That and my better half would probably end up with it in ensuing(sp??)divorce anyways.

Thanks

I would keep the Bullitt stock or modded for most of the same reasons. Also, granted I've lost my powertrain warranty, but I think I would be disappointed in the 03 Cobra's performance. She is so heavy and no live rear axle, which I prefer over the IRS.

Every Bullitt owner could get a blower with some high flow exhaust and get 03 Cobra performance and probably better and still be thousands less than the MSRP for the new Cobra. However, the warranty and piston factors are significant and need to be thought-out. For me, getting approx. 375 (plus) rw/hp has worked out, so far.

Bullitt stays, if it's true that the Cobra has 4000 lbs of weight, then it needs that power to keep up with the normally aspirated cobras, a roots type blower isn't really my goal either. Get an ATI ProCharger, and a 99 cobra (That is, in addition of your Bullitt) and you have over 500 hp, so, make the math, I don't think is really worth it.

Nice car though!

Hey Max, what if JATO bottles could be installed
on the new Cobra? Yeah right. Think about it!

(jet assisted takeoff) Just like on the Herc
that the Marines fly for the Blue Angels.
(Fat Albert...HEY, HEY, HEY!) Going to bed.

Later,

Collin

NO, Bulletta is going nowhere!! I'm keeping it forever.

However, I'm in a long running contest with a brand new Dodge Viper being the grand prize and I told hubby that WHEN I win it (I can do it!), I'd like to sell it and buy him an '03 Cobra and he said "that'd be cool"....I know he's really in love with this one......so wish me luck!

I would never trade in the Bullitt.

They will keep on making Cobra's well into the future. The Bullitt is a one time thing only!

I also agree with all that has been said so far.

As much as I love POWER, I would not give up my Bullitt for the new Cobra. When I purchased my Bullitt, I did not buy it for its performance. I owned faster cars including 01 Vette coupe, Firebird WS6, etc. I LOVE the looks and feel of my car. Now if we could only find a fix for the Death Rattle, I would be one happy camper.
