No gas left in mine. Trunk lid will not stay up.
Where do I get 'em for a reasonable price?

Mine are on their way out too. They are fine, as long as I am not parked on a slope :(

I just replaced mine, I went to Ford but 50 Resto lists them at about half the Ford price.
I think Cal Mustang lists them as well.

Now it pops up on its own I used to fight it. Very worthwhile esp with that nasty trunk latch
sticking down that you hit your head on............

Try putting a little WD40 on the chrome shaft and work them a bit. That should loosen them up.

Mine had no gas left in them and the trunk would not stay open.

mine are very stiff, does this mean they are on the way out or is this normal?
Open the trunk part way and it should go up the rest of the way on its own.
I had to push my trunk lid up but it did stay up once fully open.

I dont' think mine has ever gone up by itself,

I have to physically pull it up all the way, but stays up fine still.

thats how mine is although the button on my remote is a pain to use. i have to stand a foot away at the most and hold the button down for like 5 sec. before it works
