TSB #15175 (TR 3650 Defective 1-2 Shift Fork)

A new TSB has been issued, it is #15175.
It states that some 1-2 shift forks in TR 3650 transmissions made between 2/01 and 8/01 were manufactured out of spec and need to be replaced.

Got this over at BON. Looks like there may be a buy back on 2001 Cobras for ping, clunk and grind. See this thread (especially page 2)...

re TSB- I cannot find this TSB on the NHTSA site nor can my dealer. Where did you see this? Thanks
MY BULLITT IS IN THE SHOP FIXING THAT PROBLEM RIGHT NOW..THREE OF THE SIX PARTS NEEDE TO REPAIR ARE STILL ON BACKORDER, AT THIS TIME..THER IS A TSB FROM FORD, THE SERVICE MGR TOLD ME THAT HIMSELF..IF YOU SPEED-SHIFT 2ND GEAR YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM..MINE BROKE THE FIRST TIME I REALLY GOT AFTER MY CAR..I LOVE THE BULLLITT BUT I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THIS TRANS, DONT LOOK TO PROMISING.
I got the TSB over on BON. Click on the link contained in my post at the top. Just checked the serial number on my tranny. It's below 21,233 so I have a defective fork. There is a tag on tranny just below the fill plug on the passenger side that has the serial number on it. I am going to wait until the parts supply is better before I have the work done. I also want my Ford dealer to practice on a car belonging to someone other than me before doing the work on my Bullitt.

My service manager says supposed TSB #15175 is not a correct TSB number. Anyone have the correct number? He also said they would have to check the serial number on my tranny.
Where do you find this tranny serial number? Have I missed this somewhere?
I brought DHG 1113 in about 2 weeks ago because of a grinding noise in 1st and 2nd gears. I've got about 5500 miles on it. Dealer advised that it needs a new tranny and possible clutch plate, but getting new tranny is a problem because it's a bullitt. It is a drag driving this car with that screech every time I start rolling. Anybody else had the whole tranny replace? How long did it take to get the new tranny in from Ford?
TrueBlue,Can you give us the complete Trans tag code info ,on your Bullitt? Does your trans serial no. have any letters in front. Is that number on the bottom row of the tag? Thanks
Mus408, it is the number in the bottom right hand corner of the tag all by itself. My serial number was 11000 something. The tag is located just below the tranny fill plug on the passenger side of the tranny.

I'm actually hoping it's something they can't resolve for the 3650. Then if they offer a buyback, i'll tell them to replace the 3650 with a t56 and we'll call it square.
To find the service bulletin, use the search function for:
2001 ford mustang powertrain:transmission:unknown type

That will take you to it. Should be top one #15175
