Thought I would drop a line to your forum.
After owning in excess of 65 cars, and 7 M/C's,I feel I can add a bit of info to your banner.
I have spent over 26yrs employed as a cop in Toronto, and GTA area. I have driven numerous Police cars, ranging from VW bugs,'72 Ford customs,Plymouth Furys,Volares, Caravelles,Malibus,Citations, Impalas and Crown Vics. I was impressed with the Crown Vics performance.Performance is limited to 224km/h with full roof lights. The Taurus with smooth roof bagged out at 191km/h.I have recently purchased "Bullitt" #1969 in July 01, and have had an opportunity to take it to 3500rpm in 5th gear. Speed at this time was 200km/h. I'd like to try for top speed at red line,6000rpm? What does your math say? For those who prefer mph, please calculate accordingly at .6km/per 1 mile.
Nice chatting to you. Oh a quick question?
With the installation of 3:73 gears,am I required to electronically recalibrate the speedo? If so, how?

Hey Copsbullitt.
Welcome aboard! What division are you out of?
As a fellow torontoian, why don't you let me know when you're doing one of your runs.
See, I'm really, really paranoid of the boys in blue when I'm driving in my Bullitt.
I CHICKEN out at about 140km's on the 401.
C'mon lets be friends. By the way 200 km's is 120mph for those who don't know.60mph=100kms
By the way, real sorry to hear you had to drive a Citation, I'm sure you caught alot of bad guys in that one.

Welcome Steve!
It's good to hear from yet another Toronto area Bullitt owner. I'm right here in Etobicoke, and drive TrueBlue#1896 up and down the 400 every morning, and I have yet to see another Bullitt around town. I realize it's winter, but I've always enjoyed driving my Mustangs all year round. I hope to "catch up" to you and everyone else in the area really soon.

In the meantime, what's the official ruling on running with off-road H or X pipes on city streets up here? Is it a ticket/fine, impoundment, warning,...? It's the one mod I'd love to make.
Thanks!

200 km/h is 124.5 mph. Some Bullittheads have reported close to 155-160 mph, but that depends on a lot of conditions. 140 mph is 224 km/h, and 155 mph is 249 km/h. That's fast.
