hey guys/gals.. i'm new to the forum here. i joined because i might be getting a bullitt. why else would i join?

anyways, i'm 17 years old. my parents said they'd get me a new car if i kept a 4.0 GPA in high school and got scholarships for college. well, i've still got the 4.0 and am probably going to get college paid for so i started looking for a car.. my dad finds a bullitt about an hour and a half away from where we live. it's highland green, number 446 i believe. it has about 780 miles on it. i went and looked at it today.. i must say that it is NICE. i'm hoping my parents stick to their promise.

yeah, that's probably true.. knowing my dad he'll probably drive it more than me. that's ok though, my current car is a '66 mustang so it's not like i'm going to have to drive some crappy import when the bullitt's not around

last night my dad was looking through the classifides in the paper and saw something that basically said

"Mustang 2001 Bullitt, 770 miles, Mach sound system. Conway, (phone number)."

i called the guy within 5 minutes of reading it and talked to him about it, then went and looked at it today. the guy lost his job and is trying to start his own company and needs the money.. he doesn't want to sell it, but he has to. i kinda feel sorry for him, but at the same time i'm excited because i might get it.

Dude,
Them buying the car is only half your problem..... The other half will be keeping one or both of them from keeping the Bullitt for themsleves. You will end up with a VW Jetta.....
Seriously Good luck.

LOL Midlife that's what happened to my kid! Ninjabob, hope you get your Bullitt and that you can afford to insure it!! I can't imagine what it costs to insure a teenage boy on a car like this. And welcome to the club.

No for sale sign on my car.

OK, hey welcome to the club. If you are buying from some one here in Conway, AR., swing buy the house. We can talk a bit about our cars, take a few pics of the two cars together, or what ever.

Yeah, that’s a front plate on mine. The dealer asked me if he could put one on when it came in. I said OK. I just thought I would take it off later. My last two previous cars had a bracket that screwed on under the bumper and wrapped around to the front of the bumper. I had no idea of the mistake I had made by giving him the OK. A couple of weeks later, I removed the plate and saw the most hideous looking screw holes in the bumper. Not drilled, but wood screws forced through the rubber bumper. The two screw holes looked so bad, I decided to leave the plate on until I could come up with an idea on how to hide or repair the two holes.

Any one got any ideas?

the guy wants what he paid for it which is $27k. he's only had it for a little while and like i said earlier, its only got 770 miles on it so it's basically new.

my dad's checking with the insurance people tomorrow. i think he's going to get full coverage under his name and then it should still cover me, that's what we've got on my '66 right now i think.

the guy that has it seems to enjoy mustangs, he's got a '90 model GT that's pretty built up. i think he said its got a supercharged 351 in it with a little nitrous. his friend was there with him and he was driving a '96 cobra i believe.. they seemed like pretty nice guys.

i'll tell my parents that there's another bullitt owner there. maybe if we buy it we can swing by afterwards and talk cars. i'll get back to you on that.

I wish you good luck! Although at that age my GPA wasn't that high, my dad's intelligence was. His philosophy was, "If you want a Mustang, you deserve it when you can pay for it yourself." I bought my 1st, of many to this date, when I was 19. I never wrapped it around a pole, etc. , like everyone thought, but because I paid for it myself. I earned it. Your grades show responsibility.........so enjoy! Remember, don't rag it, brag it!
