Yes, the R spoiler is for performance. It is functional as it puts 300lbs of pressure when going a little over 60mph. The faster you go, the more pressure on the rear tires. The front splitter is for the same purpose. It keeps the front end down when going at high speed on the race course.

Don't do drugs! This is definitely a hallucination, and as a Bullitt Bro, I have to be your sponsor. Remember....you're stronger than the pill!!!

Vickie should know what she's talking about. her and hubby have a Cobra R and the spoiler is VERY much functional at speed.
it's not to my taste on a Bullitt but each to his own!!

NO NO NO. Now I'll be having double nightmares. First the Cobra spoiler, but the wheels didn't look too bad. Then.... someone had to go and post that other picture. UGH!!!!!!!

BTW Has anyone thought of coming up with a International No Ricer sign? (Like No Smoking, etc). Just a thought. :-B

My numbers may be a little off there in the mph. The spoiler on the R produces 300lbs of downforce over 60 mph- not at.

Quote from Ford chief designer, Darrell Behmer, "Testing data shows the effectiveness of the splitter and wing in achieving high-speed stability on the track. The combination produces a tenfold reduction in front-end lift, along with a threefold increase in rear downforce. The added drag reduces top speed by less than five mph."

So instead of the 175 top speed SVT intended the R to have, top speed went to 170-172mph. (The speedo goes to 180).

GREAT IDEA! Better yet. Maybe we could get a couple of 150lb barbell weights drilled with 4-1/2" bolt circles and bolt those bad boys right to those rear wheels! You'll get all that OVER 60mph downforce at a dead stop, you wouldn't give up 5mph top end AND it would even look better than the wing! (PY you got any beer left? I may need one soon.)
