Due to my backfire problem which I mentioned earlier this week, Ford has arranged that I take the car to the shop and get it checked out. Now, I did mention I removed the air silencer in order to help the problem by adding more air into the intake. Does taking off the silencer and taking it to Ford without it on VOID my warranty? I've heard mixed answers before and well, we're all Bullitt owners. Let me know!

it never hurts to be safe!
don't take any chances and go ahead and put it back on before you take it in

I just took my air cleaner assembly apart this evening looking for a 'silencer'. I found only 3 pieces- the airbox, the filter, and the rubber nozzle coming out of the airbox, pointing backwards(!) into the fenderwell. Where is this silencer?
