Glad to see a topic we can all cheer about[unless you were for Oakland],however having grown up in the Bronx, I must admit being very happy that they pulled through. Way to go YANKEES!!!

I Hate the Yankees, haven't they won enough world series rings already? Big city money always seems to have big winners. But you know what? Some of my all time favorites were Yankees. Go figure. Ruth, Mantle, Billy Martin, Joe "D", ther will NEVER be a better switch hitter in the game than "THE MICK". All I have to say is GO SEATTLE.
I am a yankee fan from the get-go, I can remember taking the subways from flushing and cutting classes at John Bowne H.S. to get to yankee games... some things havent changed.... I cut out from work now to see basbeball games ( texas Rnagers) like my most recent trip to seattle ( cut out of work 4 days for that one)to watch the mariners and the tribe.... love those mariners too... great team and city... great fans...sent my tix for the ACLS series to friends in seattle so they could go and I have tix lined up for the world series if seattle wins so....i guess a few more days out of work wont hurt... lets see trick or treat...game 4 i think....lol... baseball is the best in m.h.o

Take a look at the payroll of that other team that won a few games, 116 I think it was. Their payroll is no where near the Yankees, matter of fact it's not near my teams payroll, the BLUE JAYS, an almost 500 team. The reason the YANKEES have bean there that much the last few years is that, yes the players get payed well, but they also happen to have a REALLY good TEAM, from the manager on down, they play great ball as a team.
There's a few other teams that have pretty big payrolls, and SUCK year after year!

Yeah, kind of reminds me of the redskins. A team that has an astronomical payroll that plays like a beat up high school team....go figure.
