I'm aging myself again but I remember when he decided to drive rather than take the Clear Lake, Ia plane that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper in 1959.

Truly one of the last remaining Country Rock Bad Boyz and will be missed.

A big loss, but just think....if he had gotten on that plane in 1959...he wouldn't have had these past 43 years to entertain us, and live a pretty full life.
