I had to drop the car today at 0700 hrs since I've been noticing a loud ticking in the left side of the engine and it gets anoying above 2000 RPM, I thought they might be the injectors, then I thought it was a noisy valve but none of the above per the dealer, oh well, let's see what the dealer says tomorrow...

Well, after many things they checked, they replaced the A/C clutch, and they finally admited they were the injectors, they say this thicking is normal, I have heard other owners complain about these injectors, but I don't know if they found a fix for them to be quiet or not. They didn't replace them since this was "Normal". Any advice?

so Ford's official statement is the cars make strange ticking sounds and that is normal? No wonder the company is in the toilet!

I'm sure there are channels to escalate this. I'm also sure someone more knowledgable then I will post how to utilize those channels.

I just got #4456 back from a 2 week stay at my 3rd dealer for the ticking noise and they did some checking and determined that the drivers side head was defective. They replaced it and the noise is gone. I am gonna drive the p1$$ out of it this weekend and check for leaks and anything else and if it is still solid then the head replacement fixed the problem. If you are getting this ticking noise insist that the dealer try to fix it instaed of saying that it is normal. It is not normal because my friends bullitt does not do it. I was told by 2 other dealers that it was an exhaust leak and that they didnt know. The third dealer i took it to actually tried to fix it and so far have been successful. It is NOT normal.
