The posts I hate to read most are the ones about Bullitt accidents, dings and pings etc. Well I washed my car today and found a 2" scratch along with a fairly deep bowl shaped dent on the passenger side front fender just below the top area of the fender. (The scratch is inside the dent) When I saw it my heart fell right to my shoes. I wanted to cry. Then came the anger. If whoever did it was standing there, I would have put a dent in his or her head!!!! I really should't be so upset after hearing about poor Dona, or some others, but damnit, I'm pi88ed!! Like most of you I take care of it like my baby. To see this, well, I feel a little better telling all of you. I just hope it can be repaired back to perfect without costing me an arm and a leg. Damn!! This was not from someone maybe brushing against it, It looks like someone came down on the fender hard with a rock or something. Thanks for giving me a shoulder. Dave

Sounds like they were just trying to stain your image. Unfortunately, Bullitts are so gorgeous that people can't always control their jealousy.

Anyone who drives one is eventually going to get a 'bender' now and then. Don't let it stop you from enjoying your Bullitt. She just needs a little extra loving care right now.

Depending on the insult, you might consider what they call 'dentless repair' over at the detailing forums. Search at their site:

Good luck! I feel for you, man.

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know how you feel, although it wasn't the Bullitt, I had someone KEY my '90 Talon to the tune of $1500.00 worth of damage. Get her fixed and you should not even notice anything ever happened.

2272 stayed clean/pristene for about one month before the first scratch. Dropped a rake on it! Nice scratch. Got the fear of dinging out of my system very early on. I Don't worry any more and it's stayed clean since. (knock on wood)

I know how you feel. I went to get in my car in the garage and saw the push broom laying against it. My heart sunk as the broom usally hangs on the wall and it has a metal tip on the handle. Sure enough when it fell the metal tip hit the lip of the rear fender well. I saw a dent with a scratch leading away from it. I was able to fill the dent and scratch with touch up paint and buff out to make it less noticable, but I still know it's there and it bugs me.

Yep, last summer hubby was leaning on the top of the Bullitt with his hand as he was applying "polish" and leaned a little too hard up there and put a dent in it! He called the massage therapist and he got it out real good! Can't even tell now. Made hubby's wallet a lot thinner, tho, but it was worth it! It wasn't really that noticeable, but he knew it was there and that he put it in.

I was right where you are about 2 months ago, Pony XTC. I've got 2 words for you - Dent Wizard!!!! They got mine out in about 30 minutes, and I can't even tell where the dents were, and I know exactly where to look! It cost me $100, but it was worth it to get her back to normal. I wish I could take that $100 out of the butt of the person who did it!

I hate to here about your dent. For all of you that has cat problems you can spread black or crushed red pepper on the ground around your car. The cats get it on there paws and after a short time they dont come back!!

It isn't just cool cars-my wife bought a new Charger in 1986 and I can remember being in the car when a dipshit lady banged the door with her car's door. Of course she denied she made the dent but it sure opened our eyes as to how most people feel about cars-just transportation that should not cost more than $5.00 to fix anything that should go wrong.
These people are out there believe me-they always say things like "$400.00 to fix that scratch!-I know someone who will do it for $50.00."
