Picked up my O/R h-pipe last night at Dallas Mustang, started the removal of the stock h-pipe, for a dumba$$ like me, it takes 3 hours to find the sweet spot of the passenger side bolts that connect to the headers (broke 1 extension with the torque wrench, so a trip to Wal-Mart was necessary). I was too tired so I decided to continue today, with jacks and only myself, it was somewhat tedious to bolt on the MAC, but finally installed after a lunch break and 5 smokes. Took my time, went to Autozone and got 2 1/8 muffler clamp plus a set of studs to bolt on the rear of the h-pipe. The whole system is metric with a 15 mm deep socket and some wrenches of the same size. I also found that a joint socket extension did my job easier on the passenger side. The O2 sensors are easy to unlock, but be careful since they look very fragile. Got MIL eliminators and plugged them in the aft O2 sensors, that was childsplay. Overall, this is the first time I did it and if I had to do it again, it would probably be a 2 hour job at the most. Good learning experience.

Once I lowered the Bullitt and cleared all the tools, the time for the truth came, and MAN! what a true 1960's sound, my neighbor noticed it and he even told me that the car's exhaust sound is really close to the real Mustang in the movie Bullitt. I have compared in my DVD on the chase scene and it really sounds like the one in the movie.

Anyway, I was going to buy a Bassani X-pipe, but after doing my homework I knew what I wanted and therefore the H-pipe was bought. Bassani's are nice, but I really like the new sound this car has. By the way, the car got about 25% louder, but that's... musictomyears!

Cheers!
