I agree, I'd put the 6 speed in.

You be one of the few with a 6 speed bullitt, i have only seen one other and it was on a show room. Was the sean hylond version( not sure of spelling on last name or anything else really  ) but it was awsome. it had the six speed, different wheels and a S/C and who knows what else. but it was also 40K

Now that we have the tranny issue down,we should move to the next "weakest link"....the rear axle. I vote for the beefy 9 inch Ford unit. With HD 31,or 35 spline axles,REAL axle bearings,3.89 or whatever ratio you heart desires, and a Detroit Locker,it will handle all the HP and tire you can put to it!!!

Bullitt 5 speed transmission ratio------
1st 3.37
2nd 1.99
3rd 1.33
4th 1.00
5th .67
reverse 3.22
The BIG problem would be losing performance with the T-56. Does anyone have the gear ratio for the T56????? So we can compare?

Don't know about the other gear ratios but the first gear in a t56 is 2.97. This actually works better because you can launch at a little higher rpm. I really researched this for a while and have made up my mind to get one. The only problem is I don't need one until I get a bigger power adder. The t56 is bullittproof(pun intended) and it is what goes into a viper so I'm guesing a bullitt would be o.k. with it. I believe borgwarner sold the t56 to tremec and now they make it. I e-mailed ddperformace about it as they advertise in magazines. They told me they sell the new draftshaft needed(length of tranny) and a macloed dual friction clutch. All in all the t56 is a great idea for anyone really. Can't go wrong with two ovrdrives(true if you want to hide that loud exhaust tone from the man).

Any idea what it would cost to make the change including driveshaft and everything?

I found the tranny on sale for 2295. The driveshaft is probably another 200 and the clutch is around 300. The labor is anyone's guess. If you really want one e-mail. DDperformance.com and see what it will cost.
