My most reliable has been my 12 year old Miata with about 90,000 miles.

My least reliable was a 1989 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce purchased new. Beautiful car but it would leave me stranded often.

BTW, now that I have posted this, my Miata will probably die on me.

Well, the Bullitt has yet to disappoint me -

Historically, though -

My most reliable car is my semi-retired 1990 Celica GTS. A couple of little things, like a possessed air conditioner (now fine) and a 3-time magnet for parking lot morons. Never ditched me, and fits like a glove.

My least reliable was my 1973 Porsche 914.

Owned it in Germany while in the Army.

Bondo over a rusty lace form. No heat. Defrosted the windshield with a stolen restaurant candle while lost along the Czech border.

Cornered like a slot car - until it let go and spun like a top!

130 MPH on the autobahn - loaded to the gills with me, my wife and all of our luggage. Probably the only reason it didn't lift off!!

Never ran in the rain - which was plenty often!

That's really funny. The worst vehicle I've ever owned was a new '74 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce. What a piece of junk. Was towed in about once a month, wouldn't start, and get this. The exterior door handles and locking mechanism, which were metal, would freeze and you couldn't open the doors in the winter. Every cold morning I'd have to go out with a cup of hot water and poor it on the handle, the lock, and the catch. They rebuilt or fixed the head, brakes, transmission the 1st year under warranty. I bought it back then for $7,400 (you could buy a Cadi for that back then) and sold it one year later for @ $3,200. Dealership offered me $1600 on trade. On the good side I lease a new Ford product every year and I've never had any problems at all. Even my Bullitt the only problem was the 1-2 crunch which is gone with GM syncromesh so I'm either very lucky or Ford products aren't as bad as the press has given them lately.

barry bullitt,
I am laughing my a** off right now after
reading about your Alfa! Mine wouldn't start
either! The Alfa dealer could never fix the
damn thing! Too funny! (wasn't funny then)

It was a really nice car when it ran. But it was fickle. Started only when it felt like it. Triumphs and Fiats were first class quality compared to Alfa Romeo.

My 91 Miata was the most reliable. The least (by far) was my 1969 Triumph GT6. A neat little car, but man oh man! I won't bore you all with the specifics. It was a Triumph, nuf said :-B

I had a '71 Bronco Sport that was constantly having electrical problems. Left me in the dark way too many times.

The Bullitt has been reliable, as well as my wife's Jeep Cherokee. Oil changes and make sure air is in the tires.

Least reliable... was the Audi A4 I had from 1997 until the end of 2000. It was a fun, fast car. After 6 months- it cracked the head. It blew cracks in intake hoses. It leaked coolant. Suspension components failed. The started failed to disengage and I ran the starter up tp 5k rpm... melted it. Clutch pedal failed to return to top position. There was not a month that the car wasn't in for some minor repair and major repairs every 4 to 6 months.

2k miles out of warranty, the timing belt tensioner broke and the timing belt flopped. 20valves turned into trash. $4500 in damage, but Audi gave me the head.

The car that wouldn't die- my 1980 MGB we've had since 1983. Over 100,000 miles. There were times it wouldn't run well (ignition) and the head warped. It's been sitting for months- but if you hooked a fresh battery to it, it'll fire right up.

most reliable: 1987 Honda CRX; sold the car after 9 years and 140K miles. Everything worked perfectly, even original clutch and AC. Great car, just too slow

worst: can't really claim one. I've been lucky (knock on wood)

Best car was a 1967 Galaixe 500 Fastback with a 390 crashed around Southern California all summer in that car, I then blew the motor street racing (but we beat the Camero)

Worst Car hummmm with all the cars from Italy on here I am tempted to say my 78 Spider but I would have to say my 1954 Ford Crestline (my first car) was worst it had bondo rocker panels, and a 6 cyc with a oil bath air cleaner big pain. Oh and first year power windows that shot up and down like a they were turbo charged.

Most reliable- 98 jetta gt bought new and traded in on Bullitt in june. I put 87,000 miles on that car in just over 3 years.
wost is a tie between 92 chrystler TC by Maseritti and a 88eb broncoII thant i managed to have 1 flat tire and a blow out which lead to it being totaled withen 3 days of getting it
but give the bullitt time soon i am sure it will take the #1 rank for reliability

I haven't owned enough cars for long enough to have a meaningful grasp of "reliable" and "unreliable" cars, but I've sorta owned a few.

My most reliable car, the one I never had any problems with, was a 1986 Pontiac 6000 STE. I *loved* that car. *schniff*

My most unreliable was a 1991 Escort that died on me twice within 1 month of Bullitt #968 arriving. It died for the last time two weeks before 968 arrived, and I ended up driving a 2001 gold Focus (BUTT UGLY, but fun to drive). That really ticked me off. I'm glad I don't have that car anymore. I hate that car.

The most unreliable car I ever owned was ironically enough the only non-Ford car I ever owned. A 1974 Caddy Coupe DeVille. Bought it so I could store my 65 Mustang at the time. Motor blew on Cristmas Eve, the first with my wife. It was -15 that night. :eek:ops

The most reliable car I have owned was a 1991 Explorer. It presently has 200,000 miles and is owned by a neighbor.

All this said, the Boss and the Bullitt are the coolest cars I have ever owned.
