We have listed in other posts the various music that we listen to when we are driving our Bullitts. What about speculating on a list of music Steve McQueen would listen to during the making of the movie? Since it came out in '68, it was probably filmed in '67 or early '68, so that would be the latest time period for the music (pre Woodstock). He smoked pot in the '70's, assume he did during the '60's. Here are some thought starters:

Jazz - John Coltrane, Miles Davis

Rock - He was probably a Rolling Stones Fan versus the Beatles.

Rock - San Francisco - Early Jefferson Airplane (White Rabbit?, etc.)

The Doors

Quick Silver Messenger Service - again San Francisco

Jan & Dean/Beach Boys (Hot Rod tunes)? Maybe he was too cool for them.

Yardbirds/Cream/Traffic?

Blues - John Mayall?
