After MECUM, not much was said about the new owner of the HERO car. I read this morning that the car went to Florida and will be on display near Orlando in the DEZER collection.
Anyone have more info on this? My source was the ponysite.de

ARMY TC,

It looks that is speculative information, although it is a reasonable speculation because collection mentioned includes Hollywood cars. In the meantime, no official confirmation that any of us have heard.

It was a rumor because Dana Mecum's son, Frank, was on the phone with the winning bidder, and the announcer said something that sounded like "Frank had the winning bid" when it probably should have been said "Frank was talking to the winning bidder." :)

The auctioneer said it was sold then he said, “Congratulations, Frank.”

Thank you for the exact quote! To wit - the announcer should have said "Congratulations, Frank, for being on the phone with the winning bidder." :)
