My biggest gripe is that this nation will never really be a whole until we all stop identifying ourselves as African American, Irish American, Mexican American, where ever the hell you're from American. If you were born here, you're an American. PERIOD. Until people get behind that idea, we are always going to have a weak identity as a nation.

Fantastic. As a fellow American, with yes, ummmm, let me see, Cherokee, Shawnee, Crue, and a few more Indian flavors, German, Scottish, So many others, ever heard of a Heinz 57, 57 different spices kind of thing
. That would be me. I'm an American, yes I have geneology ties with many a culture and country, but this one is mine; and "ours". In the Armed Forces I've served with for 20+ years, we've grown to know no color, but the red white and blue. Yes we too still have some bigotry unfortunately. Anyone not willing to display our flag and country, ok, wanna go for a 6 month ride with 120 guys on a sub? Leave your family at home, no sun, no moon, no grass, no "fresh air", no sports, TV news, all the things the non supportive folks take for nothing. And to know I actually help defend some of these people and their right of freedom. Ironic isn't it. This is my opinion, and does not reflect any position or opinion of the armed forces who employ me.
