Last night I was driving home, and came across a 94 - 98 Cobra convertable. I beeped my horn and gave him a wave, and all I got was the finger. This isn't the first time this has happened, I live in Toronto, does this happen in other cities?

I'd like to think that Mustang owners have a respect for other owners whether they own a 6 Cyl, GT, Cobra, or Bullitt.

IL used to always get that in my 5.0. Let's face it, Mustang drivers have a bad name.

I have tried doing the Corvette wave while
in my Bullitt to other Mustang drivers and
it is not working! The Corvette people
95% of the time would wave back...not with
Mustangs. I usually just get a funky look
from other Mustang drivers. No middle fingers
yet! "Gee, I hate it when it does that" - Goose from Top Gun.

I am too often the one not replying when being waved at by another Mustang owner. Until I joined BullittClub I didn't know what the engine revving was all about. It appears that the "friendly" nature of the Mustang owners is limited to the few aficionados of the car. Most seem to not appreciate the car.

You sometimes see that type of thing where people think their ride is better than everyone else's. When I rode my Goldwing, we found that the Harley riders wouldn't wave to us even though we waved to them. If there was a group of Harley's riding together, the last guy might raise a finger slightly off the handlebar (as a wave) but that was rare. Sorry Karl, but that was the way it was.

Let's not forget there are hundreds of thousands of Mustangs on the road, so they're quite common. I think the waving & nodding is more of a "close-knit" community type of thing.

i must say that whenever i've waved, smiled, or nodded at another Gt or Cobra owner....i've usually gotten a wave, smile, or nod back! some don't, but most acknowledge my appreciation of their good taste somehow!!

You're expecting a WAVE?
Geez, I can't even get EYE CONTACT !!!
I get ignored when my car is better looking, or faster. I get ignored when my car is not quite as awesome in looks and power. I get ignored period.
I always thought maybe it was just me!!! Maybe they wouldn't stoop to acknowledging a GIRL in a Mustang!
The ONLY time I get a wave or a thumbs up, is while driving the '69. And not usually from "fellow" Mustang drivers.
I've learned to accept it. Just hold your head high, and bask in the knowledge that you own a Bullitt!

Hey Bruce
I go to Montreal every year for the Grand Prix.... Are you sure about that..LOL
Hey bulitt
I find it's the other way around. I get ignored while riding. You know , six or seven Harleys, hey they must be those bad bikers.Man, even my mother wont acknowledge me riding "that loud, biker thing" bike.

I disagree with the Toronto/Montreal who is better. I grew up in Montreal and live in Toronto now. If Toronto is looked upon as worse it's only because all the bad drivers moved fro Montreal to Toronto. I moved before getting my licence so I guess that make me a Toronto Driver. In the end they both have there share of A...holes. I waved when I owned a Jeep and if I received a wave from a fellow stanger I would return it appropriately. You just have to remember that some people are jerks. If you ever see a DHG in T.O. honk or wave it may just be me. I personally like the brother/sister Hood of the mustang.

A truck? You mean like the 1999 Suburban that we own? Or the '89 before that? Or even the '89 Bronco that we had?
(NOT a Bronco II)
You mean Like one of those!?!?

I think people are getting to the point where they're just scared to death to acknowledge other drivers. There are places where just making eye contact is an invitation for a beating/shooting. Where I grew up, I had to keep my eyes straight ahead while walking across campus and hope with all I had that nobody would verbally or physically attack me. One glance in the wrong direction would bring a world of hurt.

Road rage is an extension of this. With all the reports of people going nuts on the road, it's no wonder people don't look or wave. It's sad, but that's the world we live in.

I pulled up to a light next to a 2001 yellow GT. I beeped and waved to the guy. After all, I was the one who sold him the GT! He looked over, stone faced and then revved his engine. When the light turned green, he cut loose and got sideways, almost swinging his car into my right fender! I called him the next day and asked what the deal was. He told me he knew it was me, then told me to *&#% off, that his GT was way better than my Bullitt and hung up! So much for loyal customers!

Bullitt00093, Wow! Not a very nice guy in
that yellow GT! Not very safe either!

BTW, is the engine reving a signal to race
or an audible thumbs-up, curious.

I'll drink to that! Might as well flip everybody off while we're at it. The only time I can get someone's attention is if they're driving a camaro or something like that. I think the RUDE mustang owners are just mad that they didn't spend the extra couple of thousand for the car they really wanted. Otherwise the Cobra and Saleen owners have been really cool so far.
