It would appear to this observer that Ford is leading the performance charge with a pickup truck and letting the Mustang duke it out with the Vette's little brother.
400+ HP Lightning straight from the factory in 2002 anybody??
ford/svo has a 385 h.p. / 302 available that has passed emissions testing... as you all well know...it can drop/ bolt right in...

Now that would be a kick in the A$$ to GM :-B
Ford doesn't have anything that can compete with the Corvette, much less the ZO6.
The Vette is a low-slung sports car, the Stang is a 2+2 coupe.
Even if Ford built a sportscar chassis, what engine would it run? Anything with an intercooler is going to blow apart and the 5.8 in the Cobra R just isn't enough.

As good as the Mustang sales are they don't have to.

Now your talking! :-B they have the nailhead 401 Buick called it a 400 because of the restrictions in the A-Body's my 4 speed has 2 4 barrels. Fun Fun Fun
I think the project code name is "Petunia" and according to the source I read that car, which is based on the unbeatable GT-40 and also to be styled by Pininfarina will dominate Z06's and Vipers right off the show room floor.
Ford also owns Aston Martin, and if you saw the new Vanquish...............man oh man is THAT a beautiful car. thinks it was about $285,000.00 though!!!
