Welcome Mark from this side of the pond - Below is the link to a recent thread on this very subject. Hope this helps. BTW, I believe Ford kept the costs down by using an older body color (Alloy, G5) for the wheels and was still able to obtain the results they wanted. A win for Ford and a win for us as we can easily match the stock color.

Excellent, many thanks useful info
Im looking to buy myself one , in the UK theres currently 5 on the market , some strange stuff and claims. For example did Ford fit a carbon Fiber hood to the later 2009 production Bullitts ?
Hi Mark - No, no carbon fiber hoods came from the factory, all were aluminum with a molded plastic inner liner and the heat / noise shielding material attached to the underside.

A lot of Bullitts have been modified from stock (not that there's anything wrong with that!) and there are a number of different hoods available in fiberglass as well as carbon fiber on the aftermarket.

If you have any questions about what is original and what isn't or what to look for in a specific area, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm not a mechanic so I can't help much with mechanical problems but I have spent the last 2 years learning as much as possible about these cars. Mine is factory stock with just a couple of added appearance items so I can use it as an example for any photos or other answers you might need or want. There is also a lot of info in the 'sticky' threads right here on IMBOC about the Bullitt introduction and the factory specifications when they were introduced.

And good luck finding a nice 08/09 Bullitt for yourself. They must be rather rare over there. One question I have - do they have to be converted to right-hand drive or can you register and drive one just as it comes from the US? I owned a US spec Triumph TR6 for 22 years and I know the conversion is rather easy for them as they were designed to be either from the beginning. The lights are another issue - one member in Japan had to modify his Bullitt so the lights met the requirements there. That alone took quite a bit of effort.
